The Broadside Bunker is one of the nicest herring/bunker imitations that we've seen yet. The "Natural" color features subtly blended colors with hints of pale orange, pink, lavender, olive, and seafoam to mimic the iridescent sides of many small, broad-sided baitfish. Excellent profile, and a strong hook to catch the toughest gamefish.

The Broadside Bunker #1/0 is approximately 3 inches (7-8 cm) long. The "Natural" color scheme is pictured in the photo shown above. The "Flashy Bunker" is Smoke gray over white with pink highlights and lots of pearl flash. The "Pink Back" version features a pink over white coloration with very "pearly" sides" (popular offshore color pattern). The "Black Back" version has a black back, with hints of blue, pink, and pearl on the sides of the fly (traditional "herring" color pattern). The "Chartreuse" fly has chartreseuse sides over a pearl belly with just a bit of blue-green on the back. The Golden Tan Back is a very nice tan over pearl & white. Tied on super-tough Mustad "Hoodlum" hooks - the wing fibers are "DNA Frosty Fish Fibers" and "Holo Fusion Flash Fibers" (see these materials and many more in our Fly Tying Materials catalog).
Pattern Recipe - Tying Suggestions:
Hook: Mustad Hoodlum 10827 #1/0, 2/0.
Thread: Flat Waxed Nylon White, or Monofilament thread, clear fine.
Wing Fibers: DNA Frosty Fish Fibers - assorted colors.
Flash: Holo Chromosome Flash, Polarflash Pearl, Green Pearl, Pink Pearl, Chartreuse, UV Minnow Belly.
Eye: 3-D Eyes; 1/4" silver.
