Cockroach Tarpon Fly

Our version of the classic Tarpon Fly - the "Cockroach", is very nicely tied on the Owner Aki #3/0 hook. The natural colored fly is very effective in so many areas, including for hard-fished tarpon in the Keys, Homassassa, and in the Gulf, as well as anywhere else in the world that tarpon roam. The "Purple" version (not pictured) is also one of the top colors requested by tarpon anglers. Excellent for a wide variety of conditions, no selection of tarpon flies is complete without the Cockroach. The Cockroach Tarpon Fly is tied on the Owner Aki #3/0 hook, and is approximately 4 inches (10 cm) in length. If we can't get the Owner hook we put these on the Varivas 2600V #2/0, which is the same size overall as the Aki #3/0. We tie these sparsely in the modern style, and our dressing features a rabbit fur collar for added action.
