Q. Do I have to mix E-Z Shape Sparkle Body like epoxy?
A. No! With Sparkle Body you work right from the bottle.

Q. Do I have to worry about dangerous fumes with Sparkle Body?
A. No. E-Z Shape Sparkle Body is a non-toxic product with little or no odor.

Q. Do I have to rotate the fly after the Sparkle Body is applied?
A. No. You can build up a body that will not sag with E-Z Shape Sparkle Body. Of course, there is a limit to how thickly the material can be applied.

Q. How can I use Sparkle Body to make some of the larger flies?
A. Build up a larger underbody with thread or yarn in order to create a large body or head.

Q. What can I use to clean up E-Z Shape Sparkle Body?
A. While still wet, clean up Sparkle Body with soap and water. Once cured, however, this product is permanent, so be careful!

Q. How long does E-Z Shape Sparkle Body take to dry?
A. Sparkle Body is dry to the touch in a couple of hours. However, we recommend allowing the fly to dry at least overnight before fishing.

Q. How does this material hold up in salt water?
A. Better than just about anything else. Sparkle Body will not yellow after exposure to salt water. When dry, E-Z Shape Sparkle Body retains a resilient quality that helps it to resist wear and impact. Sparkle Body is not brittle like epoxy, and it is harder and tougher than silicone.

Q. How will Sparkle Body stand up to catching fish?
A. Just fine. We field tested E-Z Shape Sparkle Body in the "One Fly" division of the 1996 Martha’s Vineyard Striped Bass Catch and Release tournament. Our fly held up for the duration of the seven hour contest, resisting the effects of repeated casting, catching fish, and the harsh conditions encountered in saltwater fly fishing. When the results were in, E-Z Shape Sparkle Body was a winner, taking first place in the "One Fly" division with Windram's Sparkling Sand Eel!

Q. Will this material harden in the bottle?
A. No. E-Z Shape Sparkle body should keep indefinitely when stored properly.

Q. Can I thin E-Z Shape Sparkle Body?
A. Thin E-Z Shape Sparkle Body with a little water (just a drop or two) if you wish. Keep in mind that thinning the E-Z Shape too much will cause the E-Z Shape to lose it's gel-like consistency. Tiers sometimes thin the "Pure" colors if they wish to make eyes using those colors.

Q. Can the different colors be mixed?
A. Yes! You can mix the various colors to create some interesting new tones for your flies. Use a bodkin and mix the E-Z Shape Sparkle Body colors together on a plastic or other non-porous surface that can be easily cleaned following mixing.

Q. What should I do if the tip clogs?
A. If the bottle is kept tightly capped when not in use, this should not happen. If the tip does clog, simply pull off the plastic tip with your fingers, or a pair of pliers, and push the clog out from the inside.

Q. Do all of the colors contain sparkle?
A. Several of the E-Z Shape Sparkle Body colors have no sparkle in them at all. These colors are Pure White, Pure Black, Red Gill, and Fluorescent Yellow. These colors are useful for eyes, gill markings, and anywhere else that a flake of sparkle might disrupt a fine line or detail. All of the other colors contain sparkle!

Q. How many different kinds of flies can I make with Sparkle Body?
A. As many as you can think of! We’ve used E-Z Shape Sparkle Body to make streamer bodies, heads and eyes, bonefish flies, sand eels, squid flies, rattle flies, and even crab flies. Use Pure Black Sparkle Body anywhere that you might use head cement, to make a glossy head. Use the Pearl color to make flashback nymphs and scud patterns. Coat slider heads for saltwater and bass flies. There is no limit to the variety of interesting and effective patterns that can be made with E-Z Shape Sparkle Body!
