Dave Skok's "Mega Mushy" Bunker patterns are big flies for big fish. When slammer blues, monster stripers, and offshore species prey on bunker (menhaden), shad, large herring, and other large, wide profile baits, the Skok's Bunker is the pattern to choose. Big adult gamefish will refuse smaller imitations when they are keyed in on large baitfish, and a large fly is needed to get the attention of these lunkers.

Skok's Bunker patterns are tied on Tiemco's 600SP #6/0 hook, and these flies measure approximately 9 1/2 inches (25 cm) long. Tied by professional fly tier and tournament winning angler Dave Skok.
Fishing the Skok's Bunker: This fly can be cast to blitzing fish wherever gamefish are surface feeding on large prey, especially herring and bunker. This kind of activity occurs each year in various locations from the Outer Banks of North Carolina, to the Maine Coast. Fish this fly near herring runs such as those found on Cape Cod, and in many coastal rivers. Long Island Sound and Montauk are a couple of other hotspots where gamefish go absolutely nuts for schools of super size baitfish. This pattern is also very useful when fished deep on sinking lines to large stripers and bluefish schooled up near the bottom in tidal rips, etc.
