Page's Slim Jim

Designed by noted fly tier Page Rogers, the Slim Jim is a classic pattern for Northeast saltwater fly fishing. An excellent imitation of the Atlantic Silversides, the Slim Jim features a slider style body which gives the fly a neutral bouyancy in the water, causing the fly to swim in or just below the surface film, just like the natural baitfish.

Page's Slim Jim is tied on Mustad's 34011 #2; total length of this fly is approx 3 inches. The Slim Jim is a useful fly for night fishing for striped bass, and also an important pattern for false albacore and other species which key in on silversides in late summer and fall. One final note - after receiving a tip from one of our customers, we have found that this is one of the best flies that we have ever fished for Largemouth Bass. Tied by Umpqua Feather Merchants.
