Borski's Swimming Shrimp & Super Swimming Shrimp - SaltwaterFlies.com

Borski Swimming Shrimp & Super Swimming Shrimp

Swimming Shrimp

Artist and fly tier Tim Borski comes through again with these fantastic Swimming Shrimp and Super Swimming Shrimp bonefish flies. These patterns can serve as shrimp, crab, or goby imitations, so these wonderful patterns work well in a variety of locations and situations. Both flies feature a monofilament weedguard - the Super Swimming Shrimp has rubber legs for added action.

Borski's Swimming Shrimp (top photo) is tied on the Tiemco 811S hook in size 6 and is approximately 1 3/4 inches long. The Super Swimming Shrimp is tied on the Tiemco 811S size #2 or #4. Both sizes of the Super Swimming Shrimp are approximately 2 1/2 inches long - the #2 fly is dressed slightly heavier than the #4 fly. Fly design by Tim Borski - Tied by Umpqua Feather Merchants.

"Had to give you a quick note on my trip to Boca Paila down in the Yucatan. Fished for six days for bonefish, permit, and tarpon. Permit and tarpon were difficult, but the bonefish were everywhere. We did OK the first day. Second day we tied on the Borski Swimming Shrimp. My buddy and I passed the rod back and forth for an hour and caught 12 bonefish. Next day we tried something else, but after an hour tied the Borski back on again... 10 more bonefish. Next day, same thing with the same Borski fly... although it was starting to get a bit beat up. Fifth day it got so chewed up we tried another Borski my buddy had gotten at Orvis, caught a couple but it still didn't do as good. Last day, we put your poor old Borski Swimming Shrimp back on (at this point it is literally only half the size it was originally, cross eyed and a bit lopsided!) We never had a bonefish refuse it if we put the fly in the right spot - caught 15 bonefish again the last day!

Don't know what your record is for bonefish on one fly, but this is certainly mine. We lacquered the fly to a frame with a photo of the last bonefish!"
