Photos and descriptions submitted by Marcel Karssies of The Netherlands.

This is a photo of a small snook that hit a Johnny Angel fly. The fish was caught in Doctor's pass, Naples Florida. The clouser minnow is a very good standard fly but to fool inlet snook you have to come up with something different. In the Naples area the most common baitfish is the scaled sardine, imitations of this baitfish work very well on snook.

This is a photo of a nice size Jack Crevalle. The fish was taken on a clouser half-and-half minnow. I am a freshwater fisherman from the Netherlands and my gear is not 100% suitable for saltwater flyfishing. The rod on this page is a Sage DS 8 weight, the reel is a dutch ATH F2 trout size reel. This outfit works fine for me but there have been some occasions where I almost got spooled, all the big fish broke off till now.

This is the photo of my first ever grouper caught on a fly in Doctor's pass, Naples Florida. The fish took a clouser half-and-half minnow close to the rocks when following Jacks abandoned the chase.
