Sand Eel Fly - Sand Eel Special - Cape Cod Sand Eel - EZ Sand Eel - SaltwaterFlies.com

Sand Eel Special

Sand Eel Special Chartreuse

Sand Eel flies are key patterns for striped bass, bonito, seabass, salmon, and other species that feed heavily on sand lance or "sand eels". This is one of our "go to" patterns for striped bass - easily in the top 5 flies that we put in the box every time we go striped bass fishing. Also a most deadly fly for bonito and false albacore. We like the Golden Tan/White for daytime fishing over sand flats; Olive/White for dawn & dusk or night fishing, as well as for deeper water boat fishing. Killer fly - tied in the heart of sand eel country on Cape Cod, Massachusetts by Chris Gill!

The Sand Eel Special Fly is approx 4 inches (10 cm) long, and tied on size #4 Varivas style 994 / 2610 saltwater fly hooks. This style of fly is also known as an "EZ Sand Eel or E-Z Body Sand Eel because of the E-Z Body Tubing that is used on the body of the fly which makes a nice scale pattern.
