Snook Slider Chartreuse & Red

Snook Slider Chartreuse/Red

The "Snook Slider" is a classic backcountry fly that is great for fishing snook in the mangroves, around docks and creek mouths, and in many other types of situations. This fly is just as good for Tarpon, and this pattern works well for both day and night fishing. Bouyant "deerhair" head pushes water and keeps fly fishing near the surface. It should be noted that this is also an excellent pattern for Striped Bass, and we often fish this slider style over rocky bottoms to keep the fly from hanging up on rocks or seaweed in these areas.

These excellent Snook Slider flies are tied on super-sharp, strong Gamakatsu SL12 #1/0 hooks - a top choice requested by many snook and tarpon guides. Single monofilament weedguard. This fly is approximately 3.5 inches long (9 cm). Related patterns: Tarpon Slider.
