WINDRAM'S ONE FLY

SPARKLING SAND EEL

Page 2

STEP 6
Apply a drop of the Pure Fluorescent Yellow color E-Z Shape Sparkle Body to form the eye. Be careful! A small bead is all that's required, and it's easy to overdo it. Squeeze the bottle slowly, and all will be well.

STEP 7
Now apply a smaller drop of the Pure Black color E-Z Shape Sparkle Body to create the pupil. You can also use a bodkin to perform this operation if you want to keep the black pupil very small.

STEP 8
You can add a gill marking by using the Pure Red Gill color of E-Z Shape Sparkle Body. A fine-tipped bodkin helps to make a neater detail. Once you've finished all of the fine detail, stick the fly into a block of foam and let it dry overnight.

STEP 9
The finished fly. Now go out and catch some fish! Notice how the sparkling quality of the E-Z Shape Sparkle Body becomes apparent after the fly has cured. This pattern is a real killer for stripers feeding on sand eels.

STEP 10
The finished fly (top view). If you want to use this for false albacore or other very powerful fish, simply substitute a short shank hook (34007 or equivalent) for the long-shank one; very strong fish tend to straighten out some long shank hooks leaving the unlucky angler with a broken heart.

NOTES ON USING E-Z SHAPE SPARKLE BODY:

Squeeze the bottle slowly to apply the E-Z Shape Sparkle Body. Give the bottle a few shakes now and then during application. Since the Sparkle Body will shrink a little as it cures, coat your fly a little thicker than you think you need to. A bodkin will help to distribute the material once it is on the hook, and a rotary vise helps in working with this product. Keep the bottle capped when not in use! This product will not harden in the bottle, but if you leave it uncapped too long, the tip may clog. If it does, simply grasp the tip with your fingers, or a pair of pliers, and pull it from the bottle. Push out any clog that has formed from the inside with a fly tying bodkin. Replace the tip, and you're back in business. Clean up E-Z Shape Sparkle Body with water while it is still wet. Once it's dry, it's permanent. Be careful! This is a non-toxic product, but once it has cured, E-Z Shape Sparkle Body may be stuck for good to your vise, bench, or your spouse's new dining room table!

Tight Lines, and good fishing.
